BEAR HUGS & BRAINSTORMS; PELOTONS & PULL-UPS

Everyone responds to crises, uncertainty/ambiguity & disruption differently. Circumstances that are destabilizing for one person might be energizing/ awakening to another.

When the threat is so incredibly uncertain, we can expect to see people exhibit more unusual and unexpected responses/behavior than normal.

For example… for some the “stay home” and/or “work from home” mandate is very liberating; for others it is very lonely.

For a large portion of the adult population, the loneliness of isolation and accompanying levels of emotional suffering could last even longer than the physical illness. Strong, talented adults are not immune the loneliness. Our suffering & self-doubt may unite us, but the responses/reactivity to the suffering will surely divide us. It usually does.

So, now might be a great time to get ahead of counterproductive trends like that. One starting point is both obvious and free. We can be deliberate and super generous with the virtual bear hugs. Sure… some of them will be a little awkward and might be unnecessary. But we can safely forecast that 98.6% of them will be greatly appreciated.
