CV19 HYPOTHESIS III: Jack & Rose can both survive.

Hypothesis III: Jack didn’t have to stay in the water, freeze and sink to the bottom. There were solutions available — like scooching over a little. There was room for two. That was a major blindspot apparently. Mythbusters and others, have proven that both Jack and Rose could survive on the plank of wood together by putting Rose’s life jacket under the plank which would have sufficiently lifted them both (on the plank) out of the water until rescue came (see video at the end of this article).

But James Cameron was, of course, committed to the human drama playing out with a Romeo & Juliet ending…including all the tragic and unnecessary suffering. When pressed on the controversy over why Jack had to die, Cameron dismissively replied, “I’m going to call up William Shakespeare and ask why Romeo and Juliet had to die.” The epic storylines…
