@leadersedgelabs the first real step is seeing/celebrating noticing the counter-productive patterns that are being normalized upstream at individual and team (micro-culture) levels.... and connecting them to the distributed, compounding burden/cost downstream.
All of my other articles are trying to help make it more visible/noticeable: The Velvet Veto of Vertical Development, When Self-Protection Becomes too Expensive, The Compounding Cost of Developmental Delay, Self-Sacrifice is Not Servant Leadership, From Default Ruts to Designing Range, etc,
The practices are quite simple & obvious - common sense but not always common practice... starting with Mental Fitness (i.e., Self-Regulation & Self-Observation)... if you/we are not able to normalize/practice the simplest of simple, like self-regulation we don't have access to any of the more advanced thinking/behaving capacities we are supposedly investing in & wishing to turn on for the sake of building advantage... https://medium.com/slalom-build/settle-your-glitter-weird-smart-stuff-to-try-966fc59b2e07?sharedUserId=raffviton
If we are not serious about self-regulation under pressure, then we are not serious about development/growth. Thinking we can skip it and still get next level results in the habitual hubris that keeps us/me stuck.
